GUITAR, MANDOLIN & THEORY OF MUSIC TUITION

ETHOS

There is no magic pill that enables ‘fast-track’ progress for learning to play virtuoso guitar. Besides, if there were, the pleasure of the journey would be missed. Although some students may possess advantageous qualities, such as better motor neurone abilities, for the overwhelming amount of performers, success is the product of nothing more than persistent hard work.

“It is not necessarily by running that one arrives sooner.”
~ Francisco Tarrega

“Wisdom is the daughter of experience.”
~ Alberti

“Either memorise exercises, studies and works of increasing difficulty with the intention of perfecting them later on, or seek perfection from the outset before storing away large quantities of material. The first option runs the risk of learning to play pieces poorly with the inability to free oneself from imperfections. The second option requires considerable vigilance and patience, but offers far more satisfactory results, eventually.”
~ Francisco Tarrega

“The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change, until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds.”
~ Daniel Goleman
